United States. A Civil War Spencer Cartridge Box Leather Pouch, c.1860 Republic of the edge inscribed “John WFound locally in Ontario, Canada, this is a American civil war cartridge box for the Spencer Rifle cartridges, more specifically the Spencer pattern cavalry carbine, with illegible manufacture cartouche on interior lid, missing the wooden insert however remains structurally sound with all other primary components, leather shows light flaking and crazing and will make a good looking display item.
